Unlike previous generations in automation the new era of automation is not transition but transformation where technology encroaches the decision- making at higher levels to replace humans.

bridging the physical and virtual world.

• Organization Structure, Personnel Skill Sets

Smart Industry Readiness Index allows the companies to conduct self-assessments so that they can systematically and comprehensively align themselves with Industry 4.0.

Companies’ self-assessment shows a significantly positive correlation among process, technology, and organisation.

Majority of the companies still appear to be immature or partially mature, and needing much improvement and the re-evaluation of their transformation strategies related to Industry 4.0.

My experience in using technology for two decades taught me a few lessons .

Any new trends are hyped . It depends on investor smartness to adopt as

• Early adopter
• Early Majority
• Lat Majority
• Laggards

It is important to note that major users of technology fall in the Early adopter or Lat Majority.

Successful organizations will capitalize on opportunities faster, less expensively, than their competition. Costs required to create or change a solution undermine business logic supporting IoT adoption, posing the real scalability challenge.
